Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor from Bahrain's Manama was brought up in an ethnically diverse family. The father of Jacqueline, Elroy Fernandez, is an Sri Lankan. As a teenager, she participated in national badminton competitions, but quit playing and went on to become a fashion designer. Padukone is from Mangalore, and her mother language is Konkani. Her ancestors hail from the town of Padukone located in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district in Karnataka state of India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the late 1980s. Her mother, who worked for a travel agent, is also from this area.
